“Dr. G”, a native Nebraskan, began his Oncology training at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, the first Clinical Cancer Center in the nation sponsored by the federal National Cancer Institute (NCI). After completing his training, he served for three years as Medical Director of the Nebraska Methodist Cancer Center in Omaha, the largest Cancer Center in Nebraska at the time.

In 1991, Dr. Goetowski was selected to develop and head the Carolina Cancer Center in Aiken, SC, the first Cancer Center in western South Carolina. He led the Center successfully for 13 years, building it into a major institution in the region, culminating in a new $7M Cancer Care Institute of Carolina, in partnership with the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) in Augusta, where he had recently been promoted to Associate Clinical Professor. During his tenure there, he scored several ‘Firsts’; First Combined Cancer Center in the entire Southeast, which combined both Medical and Radiation Oncology as a fully integrated Team in the same facility; First Steriotactic RadioSurgery Center in South Carolina (1992); First Prostate Brachytherapy program in the state (1993); First clinical Intravascular Brachytherapy program (2000), which has treated over 300 patients – one of the largest series in the Southeast.

With a wide experience in multiple tumor types, Dr. Goetowski has a particular interest in treating Breast, Prostate, Lung and Rectal Cancers. He also has extensive experience in using Radiation to treat several non-cancerous (benign) conditions, including Intravascular Brachytherapy for Cardiac Stenosis, post-operative Keloid treatment and Graves Orbital disease.
