Overview

The GE C/T Scanner is equipped with a dual slice imaging detector which is utilized to acquire images for treatment planning.  The Focal Sim is a single, integrated software and laser system that utilizes the C/T images to seamlessly perform contouring, beam placement, block/port definitions, and real-time digital reconstructed radiograph’s DRR’s.  Multiple customizable views ensure efficient access to all required images and planning perspectives.  The moveable lasers serve to mark the treatment field on the patient after the virtual simulation or dose calculation.  This aids in the proper positioning of the patient at the treatment unit.
