Overview

The Varian 2100C Linear Accelerator is a dual energy machine capable of delivering x-rays produced from high energy electrons accelerated to nearly the speed of light.  The s-ray radiation will have energies of 6MV or 18 MV.  In addition, treatments can be delivered superficially with multiple levels of electron energies.  The 2100C is equipped with MLCs which allows the radiation to be shaped around the tumor.  The 2100C is capable of delivering 2D treatments, 3D treatments, IMRT treatments and electron treatments.  It has Theraview for imaging which allows for IGRT treatments as well.

CRCC prepares treatment plan comparisons of the different technologies for each patient to ensure that patients are treated with the best plan, on the treatment machine which will result in the optimal treatment.
